Jeremiah 31:31-34

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the

greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Hebrews 8:6-8

“But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah”

Continuing from the part one of this teaching dearly beloved, it may interest you to know that God’s plan for you is to have full relationship with him and the only way you can do that is you becoming his dwelling place. The truth is that the new covenant makes you the earthly dwelling place of God and Galatians 2:20 says “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live, yet not I but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.” Based on the above scripture, when Christ was crucified, you too were crucified. This means that in God’s eyes you are no longer a sinner seeking salvation by your own effort. This scripture also means that you are no longer a child of Adam and based on your right standing with God, your new life should reflect in your attitude.

Child of God, when Christ lives in you, your rule of life becomes Christ with total reliance and dependence on him. You begin by cultivating the virtue and character of Christ the savior. Philippians 2:5 says “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” The mind that was in Christ Jesus was the mind to do the will of the Father and this mind has also been given to you child of God to enable you do what Jesus did; you must totally surrender to God to do this.

The question to you right now dearly beloved is: what is your place in the new covenant?

Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Beloved of God, there is an urgent need for you to give yourself as a living sacrifice to God, in other words, a total surrender of your spirit soul and body is to be offered to God as a sacrifice and it may interest you to know that when a sacrifice is offered, it cannot be retrieved. And not only are you a living sacrifice but also you are not to be conformed to this world if you must be in the new covenant, that is to say do not be like the world rather constantly renew your mind by thinking the way God thinks through the reading and understanding of his word. You are to live a life of unadulterated holiness.

Titus 2:11-12 “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”

God’s grace appeared when the Lord Jesus gave his life for your sins and a bona-fide offer of forgiveness and pardon was made to you and all but only those who truly received him as Lord and Savior are saved. Beloved of God, it may interest you to know that it is the same grace that saves you also trains you for holiness. In this school, you learn to renounce worldly lust, ungodliness and whatever does not have God in it; that means you have to come out of your way into God’s way. Proverbs 14:12 says “there is a way which seem right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Child of God, you can never depend on your own wisdom if you must live and walk right before God. The bible says in Matthew 7:13 that we should ‘enter in at the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadth to destruction, there are many who go in by it.”

Beloved of God, if you must maintain your place in the new covenant, you must strive to enter in at the narrow gate. The narrow gate curtails, restrain and places you in right standing with God; the narrow gate enables you walk with focus on reaching the finish line of the race; the narrow gate removes you from following the crowd and the world. Child of God, precious is the new covenant and blessed are you if you are found in it.
