John 5:4-8

“And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir; I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”

Dearly beloved, in today‘s devotional, God is about to address the case of as many that has been trusting him for one thing or the other. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit,

let us consider the scripture before us from John 5:5-8; looking at the above scripture closely a certain man can be anybody including you reading this piece. This said man had an infirmity, a situation that has lasted for thirty-eight years; this man has been in this condition even before Jesus was born. It will interest you to know dearly beloved, that the nature of his infirmity was not indicated however, this infirmity did not only puts a limitation on him, it also made him different from others; this infirmity isolated him from the real world and kept him down. Sounds familiar? Just so you know dearly beloved, infirmity differs in nature and it can invade your privacy not minding who you are; you may be rich, poor, educated, carrier person, entrepreneur, tall, short, black or white but as long as your life but as long as your life is far from being perfect then you have an infirmity. If this thing keeps you awake at night and puts a limitation on you then it is an infirmity.

If I dare to ask dearly beloved, my question would be: what is your infirmity? It doesn't matter what name the infirmity goes by, know that the lord is here to address it. In verse 6 of the above text, Jesus saw this man with the infirmity and right away knew for how long he had been in that situation; in Jeremiah1:5a the bible says “before I formed thee in the belle I knew thee…” just so you know child of God, nothing takes God unaware and with that confidence I tell you that God knows where you are. Let me encourage you that no matter what you are going through God is close by. Child of God , know this for sure that time is no limitation with God and how long you've been in that situation does not matter when God steps in. Just so you know, the compassion and the mercy of God is what brings him closer to you when all is not well; Hebrews 4:15 says “for we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” Just so you know, there is nothing you are going through right now that Christ himself did not go through. Is it pain? Jesus felt pain too. Is it been faced with temptation? Jesus was faced with temptation too. Is it despair and tears? Jesus faced despair and tears too. Is it betrayal? Jesus was betrayed too. Is it humiliation and ridicule? Jesus was also ridicule. So you see; there is nothing that you are going through now that Jesus cannot identify with. You may have looked up to others for help yet help did not come, You may have even tried several times on your own and fail just like the man at the pool remember what he said in verse 7 of John 5? “the impotent man answered him, sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but when I am coming, another steppeth down before me” Let me encourage you today with the words from Micah 7:8, it says “rejoice not against me, o mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”

Dearly beloved, there is no need to worry for the Lord himself is a great light in the midst of your bad situation. Even if the whole world gives up on you one word from God will turn your situation around. God will work out your miracle today and he will put a smile on your face because nothing is difficult for him to do. Zachariah 4:7a declares “who art thou, o great mountain? Before Zerrubbabel, thou shall become a plain” it doesn't matter the great mountain; pain, trials, affliction, frustration, depression, single-hood, marital crisis, childlessness, sickness and diseases, failed attempts, rejection, limitations, joblessness, and many more and by the word of God it shall become a leveled ground in Jesus name and let me assure you this one thing, God has never failed before and he is not about to start with you, he is on top of things for you and he will surely address your case.

MAY HIS JOY FILL YOUR HEART...
