John 5:1-5
“After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem."
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.”
There are times in life when we allow ‘divine opportunity’ to pass us by either because we refused to listen to God, or because we doubted God, or because we depended on our own human wisdom or simply because we were waiting for help from the wrong source. Whatever the reason dearly beloved, know that a missed opportunity is a great delay to one’s destiny. There are great multitudes of impotent folk in the body of Christ who are waiting for the stirring of the power of God to move them to the next level however while some may have missed it others are still be waiting. The bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that “to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” In other words there is a time scheduled in heaven when God orchestrate certain things to happen, God does not just move, he moves with time and season however he is not limited by it. For instances there are specific seasons and time which no man can change; ‘times of birth and death’ seasons that controls the earth like winter, spring, summer and fall. Whatever has been appointed by God for its being and continuance thus remains so and no human wisdom or power can change it.
So how does this affect the destiny of man? Dearly beloved it is God who determines when everything concerning your destiny shall come to manifestation and in what circumstances it shall come to be. John 5:3-4 which is part of the text in this devotion says “3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.” God has long stir the water of so many believers but unfortunately they could not jump into it because of one reason or the other. Dearly beloved I want to believe with you that today is that day which God has chosen to stir up the water for your sake and all you need do is to step into your destiny with no question asked. When God orchestrate a move that will change the destiny of a man, it rests with that man to seize the opportunity as it presents itself or to ignore it. Just so you know child of God, time and season work by faith, Ecclesiastes 11:4 says “ he that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.” In other words when you constantly see the situations that hinders God’s plan for your life chances are that you will not be able to lay hold of what God has set before you. The man by the pool for 38 years told Jesus that ‘he had no one to take him into the pool when it stirs and besides whenever he tried to step into the water another person steps on him’. All Jesus asked him was ‘would you be made whole’? When you trust God’s move and quite making excuses as to why things are not working in your life; before you know it faith will bring you into the stirred water of your destiny. Your dream has to be bigger than you for God to be involved in it because every big dream is a small thing in the eyes of God.
1 Corinthians 2:9 says “eye had not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for those who love him.” God is able to do the unimaginable if only you are willing to step up and take what he’s flagging before you. It is a mistake for you to think that God has forgotten the covenant which he made with you; in God’s covenant you also have a part to play. God is well able to deliver you from every situation only be willing to walk with him so that his plans for you will come to fruition.
MAY HIS JOY FILL YOUR HEART…
