The Snare Is Broken

2 Timothy 2:26

“And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

The big question today dearly beloved is who is a captive? A captive is anyone held against his/her will. A captive is one who is carried away under duress and becomes subjected to enslavement. A captive is always under the claws of his master the captor and only God’s mercy breaks such hold. When one is in captivity, the master takes total control of the individual making such a person’s destiny to slow down. Captivity is not a place of volition rather it is a place where the captors want you to be; Isaiah 42:22 calls it “holes and prison houses”. You may not see with the physical eyes the walls and holes as in a physical prison, however its manifestations are evident. The enemy will do anything to enslave a child of God by mounting pressures like sickness, financial lack, failed business, irregularity in jobs and careers, failed relationships, troubled marriage, deprivations, setbacks, a sorrowful heart and sinful habits but regardless of the enemy’s move, know this child of God that you are a subject of God’s kingdom and Colossians 1:13 says that God has “delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son.” And Psalm 124: says “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped” Hallelujah…

Dearly beloved it doesn’t matter where you are today know that where you are going is God’s orchestrated destination and the enemy will not be able to gainsay it; he may mount pressure to make you lose hope and faith in God’s promises but remember that “the words of the Lord are pure as silver tried in furnace of earth purified seven times” (Psalm 12:6) and it is trustworthy. You can rely on his promises because God will always stand behind his own word; in God’s word there is no deceit, no flattering, no double meaning, no error, his word can be fully trusted. Psalm 30:5 says “every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” Let me assure you that you can depend on God’s word because whatever is holding you down is only temporary; yes it is overwhelming, frustrating, depressing and challenging but I tell you dearly beloved that victory was given to you over 2,000 years ago by Jesus’ death and resurrection, all you need do is to lay hold of it. HOW? You may ask seeing you’ve done everything there is to do yet the problem persists. Dearly beloved, begin to see the picture of where you are going and not where you are coming from, refuse the lies of the enemy that says God has abandoned you, refuse the lies that says you are walking in defeat, refuse to accept that the devil has got you where he wants you. Just so you know child of God, the devil has no power over you, it may look like he is gaining grounds with you but do not celebrate him.

Psalm 91:3

“Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” I bring you the good news of freedom and I celebrate with you child of God knowing the snare is broken out of your life and you are free. Congratulations!!
